Jacqueline Brandenburg-Rees

Ms. Brandenburg-Rees is a trial lawyer who is most at home in the court room and immersed in complex and difficult litigation.  Her dedication and hard work have led to many favorable outcomes for her clients over the past 30 years.  She concentrates her practice in helping victims and their families of personal injury, civil rights litigation, medical malpractice, birth injuries, nursing home negligence and contested custody and divorce cases.

A graduate of DePaul University College of Law in 1974, Ms. Rees clerked for Chicago law firms while attending classes and maintaining a grade point average that put her on the Dean’s List.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Catholic University of Puerto Rico where she majored in political science and history, areas that propelled her forward in her quest for knowledge of the law.

Her experience includes being an appellate prosecutor for the State of Illinois and an assistant prosecuting attorney (Assistant State’s Attorney) for Macoupin County, Illinois.  She also worked for the State Employees Retirement System in Illinois while maintaining her private practice.  Since 1974, she has devoted herself to hard work and the practice of law.

She is a member of the Illinois Bar Association, Missouri Bar Association, U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois, U.S. District Court, and Central District of Illinois.   Her professional associations and activities include the American Association for Justice (AA), formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA), American Bar Association (ABA), Illinois Trial Lawyers Association (ITLA), Missouri Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association, and Bar Association of Macoupin County.

Ms. Brandenburg-Rees is married and lives with her husband, Edmond, and 3 Yorkshire Terriers in Carlinville and Chicago, Illinois.  In 2005, she opened a Chicago office of her law firm, Brandenburg-Rees & Rees.  She spends her time in both the Carlinville and Chicago offices as her caseload demands.

She is a believer in exercise and adventure.  She is an avid yoga and meditation practitioner, trains for and runs half and full marathons and has trekked in high altitudes in the Himalaya Mountains in Nepal for the past two years, trekking in primitive terrain far from civilization.
